Hello Expos,

I am going to start by saying that I am really looking forward to another summer with a great group of teammates and friends. I don't want this to sound at all like a threat but I am really serious about this summer. It has been many years since the Elmwood Expos have even been close to the playoffs. This will be my last summer wearing the Elmwood Expos uniform unless we make the playoffs. Again I don't mean for this to be a threat, but I have been playing long enough and it's time the Expos start winning. When the Expos make the playoffs this summer, I'll pull my Brett Favre card out and unretire. Let's get after it this summer and have a little fun along the way.

Thanks,

Tippy

In response to Tippy,

I've grown up loving baseball all my life. When I discovered the Elmwood Expos my junior year of high school, I wanted nothing more than to put on one of those jerseys and consider myself one of "those" guys. Guys like Tippy, Blegs, Jonah, Jed, Fuzz, Vin, Ari, kirk... Guys who all loved the game of baseball. I have a lot to thank these guys for. Over the past years these guys have shared their own insight with me, insight that has no doubt made me a smarter, better baseball player(Not to mention bat racer). I've also had some of the best times of my life with these guys...... Now we've already watched a high caliber player/friend in Blegan leave and witnessed the impact of it. We, as a team, are now facing the possibility of losing another veteran and legend in Tippy. I've always heard these stories of past Expos teams who we're making playoff runs left and right. This summer's team has all the right ingredients to make a playoff run such as these past Expos teams, while having some good times getting there. I think about the combination of our veterans Tippy, Jonah, Jed, Kirk, Mountin etc and our new studs in Church and our Baldwin boys and I can't help but get excited for this summer. For both on the field and off. It's time to start our own stories that future Expos players after us will be talking about when we're all done. This summer has to be a summer of certainties; we can not afford to question and second guess ourselves and our teammates around us. Everyone on are team can play baseball the right way and we all need to trust our teammates to make a play. If they can't make the play, we need to bring the guy back up by having Church hit a bomb in the other half of the inning. Errors will happen in baseball, but mental errors should not. I know I've had a few mistakes myself, but this summer you can be certain that my focus will be on the game. Let's not leave any games in question this summer... and damn it lets put the Expos back on the map and keep Tippy around for a couple more years...!

Damn boomer i've known you for a couple years now and that is the smartest string of words to ever come out of your brain. But i totally agree, this is the summer that we play like we can and focus on baseball. We will have our ups and downs, and like always were young but that can't be our excuse anymore. We have to pick it up this summer and play baseball the way its suppose to be played. We need everyone to respect the game of baseball and the expos by being at most games and focused to get the job done. As hardass as that sounds we will have our fun every game and after games (Hager City) and a summer to remember. Its time to open some eyes!
